Classic Mug, Set of Two in Grey
These cups are made with a sandy brown clay body that fires to a rich black. They are coated in a glaze based off an ancient Korean recipe. The original recipe used wood ash from the Korean Pine, but this glaze has been adapted for Piñon Pine and Juniper native to the southwest. It creates a smooth grey with various blotches throughout, and an almost rusty texture.

These two cups use the same glaze which creates a smooth green celadon color on white clay. On this clay the results are very different. One of the cups is a dark brown and has had much of the grey burned out except for a few small spots. The other is a light grey, with highlights of rusty red. Both are reduction fired to cone 9.
